The moment arrived on September 8, and it was nothing short of electric. At the inaugural Latvian Startup Awards ceremony, Swotzy claimed the coveted Latvian Startup Newcomer of 2023 Award – a recognition that feels like the opening act of something extraordinary.
"This award is a testament to our collective dedication and hard work, and it is only the beginning."
Says Lauris Rutkis, CEO and Co-founder.
“I truly want to take my hat off to our pioneering first-round customers who share our thirst for growth. Your priceless feedback is our compass, pushing us ahead."
For Kristians Jenčiuss, COO and Co-founder, the journey has been transformative.
"What started out as an idea while walking in a park a bit over a year ago has turned into something really special that I'm tremendously proud of. This award shows that we are moving in the right direction."
Swotzy emerged victorious in one of eight categories. Seven winners were chosen by a jury formed by the Latvian Startup Association Startin.LV, while the eighth, the Community Choice, was chosen by public vote.
Every year, Latvia's startup ecosystem reaches new altitudes, making waves that ripple far beyond the Baltic. They inspire, setting benchmarks and redefining what's possible for the next generation of founders.
The Latvian Startup Awards exist to celebrate exactly that: the breakthroughs, the bold moves, the relentless pursuit of innovation. It's a stage for honoring the startups that refuse to settle, the ones pushing boundaries and raising the bar.
What makes these awards different? Independence. The initiative is entirely owned by Startin.LV, the non-governmental, non-profit Latvian Startup Association, ensuring the awards remain truly independent and founder-focused.
Startup Day & Latvian Startup Awards 2023 is made possible through the support of the Ministry of Economics, Startup Latvia (LIAA), and Riga Investment and Tourism Agency, with financing from the Technology Transfer Programme and the European Regional Development Fund.
